I started my working life in 1980 working with women and small children in family workshops. I retrained as a counsellor 9 years ago, and since then have worked in GP surgeries and a major London hospital. I now have a private practice in Brixton, South London, and am an accredited member of two professional bodies, BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and BASRT (British Association for Sexual and Relationship Therapy). Over my personal and working life I have heard hundreds of birth stories, ranging from the difficult and miserable, to the traumatic and tragic. I can offer a safe, non-judgemental environment for women with difficult memories and current residues that are probably being held in their body and the mind. My training is in psycho-synthesis counselling, which includes many models, for example, person-centred, psychodynamic, Gestalt, cognitive behavioural, and conflict resolution, all designed to support people to unravel and heal the past and regain their confidence in the present and future.
